The streams are the backbone and guidline for the development of the study area, and even for the surrounding urban space of Hengelo. Along the streams new builings meander side by side through the area. Like books on a shelf these buildings vary in size and content. The study and intervention area is completed by buildings bordering and closing the site. According to the urban context, such as the ’centrum-ring’, the villa area and the rowhousing, the buildings get their shape and function. The enclosed spaces serve as public parks and private gardens.
